Tree Sale | Bossy Bingo 50/50
|
Every year, the SWCD provides tree seedlings to the public at an affordable price. Order forms are mailed in late November to early December to citizens on our mailing list. Order forms are also provided through the local papers, Courthouse bulletin board, and Al’s Supermarkets stores. Orders are accepted until mid March. Tree pick up is in April. If trees are not picked up on the day of Tree Sale, they are forfeited, which means no refunds!
Is your yard full of trees from previous years? How about trying something new? The SWCD is now offering native plants, grasses, and wildflowers. The need for education about Native and Invasive plants has grown. The LaPorte SWCD continues to support native planting through conservation practices, rain gardens, and butterfly gardens.
We will also be offering educational workshops during the Tree pick-up. Check back soon for additional information!
If you would join our mailing list to receive Tree Sale information, please contact us.
Remember trees help! They:
- Beautify our environment
- Increase property value
- Save money

Bossy Bingo is a fundraiser held by the SWCD every year during The LaPorte County Fair. Tickets are $10.00 each. To play, you fill out the stub portion, which we keep. Once all sales have ended, we take all the stubs, mix them up, and draw them randomly placing them on our Bossy board.
We take the board down to the show arena where the grid is duplicated on the floor. Then, Bossy is brought in to do her thing. If she uses the restroom on your square, you win half of the money collected! If she doesn’t use the restroom within a half hour, we blindfold one of the judges, spin them around, and make them throw a Frisbee.
This is a very important fundraiser to the SWCD. The Bossy Bingo money goes toward our FREE education programs that we offer to the public.
Bossy Bingo 2010 will be held at 5:00PM at the Show Arena on July 22. Tickets are now available at the SWCD office. They will be available at the SWCD tent in Pioneerland until 4:00PM the day of the event. |
